We are always delighted to hear from former attendees within our various training programs.  It’s great to keep in touch and to hear of their success stories and how they are currently connected to color.

Some are close by and others are across the globe. Of the following former students (now friends), Leah lives and works in the Seattle area and Mauricio is located in Mexico City. As it has been said many times, color is the international language – and we heartily agree!
Here is what Leah and Mauricio are doing these days, in their own words!
From Mauricio:

Mauricio Carlos Poli, graduate of the Eiseman Color InsituteI am very happy and proud to be your student. It was a long time ago but until today I can remember all your classes and tips on color emotions.

In those years I was working at Sayerlack Brasil, a Brazilian multinational corporation on wood coatings. As an R&D Chemist, my job was to help our American Color Stylist located at High Point – NC, communicate with our customers (big furniture industries) in Brasil and South America.

The Color Stylist created some nice step panels with color formulas and a finishing schedule, and me and my team visited the furniture industry to apply prototypes to be despatched twice a year to the Furniture Market. We adjust the final color to the wood and process limitations of every customer. Always keeping the same color and emotion the artist expressed.

With a good understanding of color formulation, a little bit of English, and with your training, I learned how to put colors together to create nice furniture, and beautiful colors, some of which I have heard sell a lot. Your training was very important to me because after that I was able to understand better what the color stylist was trying to communicate, and I could translate this to Portuguese/Spanish.

Also, my team started to match Pantone Color of the Year, and we started to send panels to our customers, motivating them to release every year new furniture colors.

Because I used to travel a lot to USA and Mexico, I received an invitacion to move with my family to Mexico, for a 2-year project. I am here since then, 15 years already living in this beautiful and very very colorful country. Nowadays I work as a Technical Sales Manager, at Sayer Lack Mexicana (same name, different companies). I still love colors, all that is related to color (colorimetry, matching, pigments, dyes, finishing schedule) my eyes open wide, I just love all that. I know how to paint furniture, cars, walls, floors, paper, plastic, etc but nothing would be so beautiful without color.

My dear Teacher, THANK YOU SO MUCH for being part of my history!

Hugs from México City!

Maurício Carlos Poli

And now from Leah:

Leah O'Douley, graduate of the Eiseman Color Institute and Color specialistEnrolling in your class was one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made personally and professionally. I have an intuitive sense for color however, at the time of my enrollment, I was unclear if I could connect my love affair with color into a career of any sort.

The class was filled with professionals from various industries who were active in the field of color. Leatrice never made me feel like an imposter for being there. Every class was educational, inspiring, and joyful. The training I received is still relevant today. The science of color, the physiological response to color, deciphering color trends, selecting colors for products that will sell, or conversely understanding why some colors fail, and the list goes on. In short, the business of color.

As a graduate of the Eiseman Center for Color Information and Training, I have consulted and created color palettes for the following:

  • Residential, Commercial, Mixed-Use, Master-Planned Communities, National Retail Accounts.
  • Clients: Homeowners, Business Owners, Architectural & Design Firms, Realtors, Investors, HOA Associations
  • Expertise: Color Consulting & Design; Architectural Color Consulting & Sustainable Materials Consulting
